Have you ever wondered how much return on investment you would get if you remodeled some part of your home? It’s fun to plan out and work on a remodel, but if you are doing it so that your home will show better to prospective buyers, think twice about which types of remodels will be worth it.
If you’ve ever visited Remodeling Online, you might have seen their yearly cost vs. value report. It’s a good tool for those who are a little unsure about which projects will be worth their investment.
I browsed through Utah’s numbers, and we showed pretty well in some areas, not so well in others. A major kitchen remodel showed the highest return, coming in at 88.6%. Close behind were a bathroom remodel at 87.9% and an attic bedroom remodel at 87.7%.
The project that was least worth it was a home office remodel, at 59.2%.
